Graf Lantz and American Woolen Company | The Pursuit of Quality

At Graf Lantz, our dedication to the pursuit of quality has led us on many adventures. Sometimes we discover amazing materials, other times, we discover fascinating people who show us what uncompromising quality means. When we’re lucky, we find both.

In Stafford Springs, CT USA, there is an amazing company. They make the best fine merino wool fabrics in the country and sells them to top design houses around the world. American Woolen Company is a good company to appreciate just for the way they do things and how they stick to it. Besides the near-magical talents with merino wool, the people at American Woolen Company are hard-core proponents of classic Made in USA quality, and they are out to show the world how it’s done.

We are always looking at new ways to show the rare beauty and functionality of merino wool. And on a cold, New York day in early 2018, fate brought us into a  meeting and a conversation began between American Woolen Mills and Graf Lantz. Now, a whole year later, we are happy to report that the first bolt of AWC’s new herringbone tweed is finally on our cutting table.

The American Woolen Company + Graf Lantz Benton Carry On Special Edition is a pure modern classic. With fabric this good, we decided to revisit one of our most iconic Graf Lantz styles, give it the American Woolen Mills treatment and topped it off with incredible, premium All-American Horween Leather trims. Like everything our two companies strive for: natural beauty and strength, built to last and look good doing it.
